What caused extinction of Ice-Age animals

New evidence has been found which suggests that an asteroid or a comet kind of body crashed on earth about 13000 years ago which wiped out many large animals and forced their extinction. It also led to reducing human population. The body which crashed on earth created extreme cooling and more than 35 species of animals such as giant sloths, mammoths, big cats, etc were never seen again.
