World’s most heat-resistant material found

Scientists from Russia’s National University of Science & Technology have developed the world’s most heat resistant material. The team has developed a ceramic material with the highest melting point among the known compounds.

They fabricated the new compound, hafnium carbonitride and upon heating found that it has a higher melting point than the original champion, hafnium carbide. Its melting point lies above 4000°C.
